They make a lot of money doing this show, if they didn’t have a huge family they wouldn’t be doing the show. Some of the interests of the kids are to be a nurse and a midwife and one of the boys wants to do something that would require college. They were debt free for many yrs before the show, they were building thier house that way but TLC did help finish the house and furnish it
They were debt free years before TLC came along. They were building thier house that way too but after 3 yrs TLC did come along and help them finish it as well as furnish it. the father is in real estate and purchased several commercial bldgs he rents out so even without TLC they would survive nicely. If you have ever watched the show then you would know they have diff interests, I’m sure some of them will go to college.
Is Josh going to college? Has is Father or Mother gone to college? I bet if they had a smaller family they could have a better chance of going and better income possiblity. I know they are debt free, but I bet a big chuck comes from their show on TLC? Where does higher education fit in for this large family? Why marry so young? Josh and Anna don’t you want a college education first? I guess not.
I love when they sing they all have great voices.

Not only do they pay for the education of their own kids, but they have produced 18 kids that are future tax payers and probably will not take a penny of education money. They only give to society. They don`t take.
Revisit history, especially American history. It was not unusual to have many children. This fulfilled the biblical imperative.
For those who think that we are a strain on resources, revisit the greatest source of creativity and resource substitution and conservation – human creativity.
Children are a blessing. We need to stop treating them like a disease .
I love this family! I think Jim-bob and Michelle are doing a lovely job at raising their children. People should really stop posting so many **** comments about them.

I totally agree with you.
As long as they can raise and support them, and are in a stable home where parents are married, I don’t care how many they have.

i think all their kids are well mannered and absolutly adorable but to be honest i don’t think any person in all the world is meant to have this many kids
