Hello! Congratulations!
My husband and I decided to have our first baby naturally without any assistance from pain meds. We prayed a lot about it and I am a book worm (he he) and I worked at the library at the time so I read a lot of books about pregnancy, delivery, and breastfeeding. I also had a wonderful doula that has had 7 boys and 2 girls. She and her husband counselled us during my pregnancy. He explained to my husband, Eddie, the role of husband and father and She talked with me about the role of wife and mother.
God really lead me to make my birth plan to include no medication especially after I read the effects it has on the baby. I did not want to bring my baby in the world with that kind of drugs in his system. We went to the hospital because I have to have an antibiotic before I have a baby because of the Strep-B. So I wasn’t able to stay home that long once labor started, but our hospital accomadated all our needs. God was very good to us on that day. When I got to transition time, the contractions became very hard and God lead me to speak this song during each contraction. It was a song we sing at our church. It is “I love my Father, my Father loves me. I dance with my Father, my Father sings over me.” This was a very precious song to me because I feel that God rejoices over us so much when we are born and can dance and praise Him. I felt as though I was sitting in His lap during this time. It was so precious. It was kind of cool though because at the end of labor before I pushed I couldn’t stand anyone to touch me except Eddie because his touch was so comforting. I felt so at one with him during this time and realized what being one with your mate really means. Our first baby’s delivery was such a wonderful experience with the Lord. Our first baby is Samuel he is 5 yrs old now and we have a daughter, Sierra, who is 3 yrs old. Her delivery was also a wonderful experience with the Lord. But that is a email for another day. LOL!!!
I wish I could share more with you but you have so much to do with your baby, I am sure you don’t have time to just sit and read my comment. I just wanted to make sure you knew that I am glad that you all are sharing how important it is to allow God into your delivery, because His presence is so very important all the time. We get so caught up on who should be there or who shouldn’t but we forget to invite THE most important SOMEONE in! I like to call it supernatural childbirth (this is also the title of a book i read when i was pregnant with Sierra). I am also glad to hear of others who are willing to have their babies naturally. It is a good thing.

The birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is a most blessed event. Each year I take great joy in celebrating his birthday. We have a birthday cake and all my children and I sing Happy Birthday to him. Michelle we pray for another safe delievery of you next blessing from our Lord. Will this one also have a name with “J” ?
