The episode features the Duggars’ frugality in their purchasing. The Duggars do not use credit cards, only debit cards or cash. They purchase clothing from a thrift shop, groceries from Aldi, grow their own vegetables, use firewood (from trees on their property) to heat their home, and even have a recipe to make their own laundry detergent. I do not own 17 Kids and Counting, I am simply a fan. Video belongs to rightful owner, no infringement intended. Enjoy.

ROTFLMAO to funny. thanks for the laugh pleaseSTFUnow. But I so agree with you on this though. The reason why ppl get rid of rags like that is because it’s outdated and ugly. Rather then throw them away, some low income-poor ppl out there desperately need anything to put on and wear. Duggar aren’t in that situation yet take advantage of something that was meant for poor. I say if you can afford to spend $7000.00 on a car, you can afford to buy new clothes and shoes for your kids. JMO lol

Oh please, I’ve seen SO many parents with ONE kid that is more of a disturbance in a store than all of her boys combined! I don’t necessarily agree that they need to keep having as many kids as possible, but really…where does **** get us in life, anyways? They’re a sweet family and compared to what I grew up with, i’d LOVE to be part of this family.

They shop at thrift stores because that’s the only place they can find ugly out of style clothing for their girls. I always wondered where they got all those hideous jean skirts from that go all they way down to their ankles. Now I know. People need to stop donating those things. If you have long jean skirts please burn them! Don’t regurgitate them back into society! LMAO!

  4. pleaseSTFUnow says:

I think they should make the boys wear shirts too. They might turn women on by showing the outline of their legs and *****. LMAO!!

Ugh! I keep watching to see if the older girls will start acting like teenagers instead of robots. So far, nothing. I hope at least one of them decides they are not having children and moves out when they are 18 and goes to college to pursue a career of some sort.

@novack86…..I found that a good swift pop on the behind worked for me,when telling them nicely to stop did not. You don’t have to hit them hard to get the point across. The embarrassment alone usually does the trick.Kids will try to see how far they can push you…it’s in their nature to do so.

  6. novack86 says:

Michelle has absolutely no control of her kids. All of her kids are just running and playing through the store, and even when she asked them to stop they really didnt listen to her. She said she gave them a pep talk but it apparently didnt work. I have heard Michelle and Jim Bob say before that they have chosen not to raise their voice at their kids, but sometimes in a situation like this talking to them nicely doesnt do the trick. If I were her I would be so embarrassed by their behavior there

Is that really the best comeback you have???LOL!!!You act like a petulant little child throwing a temper tantrum!lol!A course in Anger Management & Socially Acceptable Conduct in a Civilized Nation would be very beneficial to you.Tell me..was your family cursed with generational stupidity?Or did you acquire it on your own??

@debitch231 Did you not reply to MY comment? Obviously you are clueless as to what belligerent means. Grown woman?Based on the way you run your words together & the lack of your spelling capability,I would have guessed you were in middle school.Since you made the invidious statement referring to me as ”White trash” should I assume YOU are no more than ghetto trash yourself? As argumentative as you are to continue to converse with such a dense person as you would only be counterproductive.

  10. dabrat231 says:

no one was being belligerent towards. You and the same to you.You dont like waht you see then dont reply *****.Iam grown woman dont you evertell me what to do ok.Computers gangters boy i tell you White trash.

oh, by the way I was talking about the kids reply’s on how old the earth was made, not on the research of Christianity.

  14. jagexownage says:

okay, give me the website. And I will check it out. plus Christianity is a bunch of nonsense. I take science as a fact. No fairy tells for me, none of it, zip and zap.

  15. jagexownage says:

I don’t get your reply. These kids shouldn’t be homed school and go to a creationism museum that tell facts of nothing.

    Shimmeringsmiley check your email…

  21. MsSarcia says:

Shimmeringsmiley, that’s very interesting to know about the Duggar, You raised my suspicious about them up higher. I sure hope u get a response n not some prewritten emailed like when I first asked the Duggar a question. Please if you can, would you post their reply? I don’t get this family at all. “By cheap save the difference” Save the difference for what? To buy more materialistic things while their children’s wear run over shoes and faded out dated clothings when they can afford to buy new?

  22. kayper54 says:

    Thank-you! :)

  23. Shimmeringsmiley says:

I saw their website that had a link for Josh and Anna. This was about 6 months or so ago. They had links to the places they had their bridal registries and all this stuff they wanted… some very expensive..I think Anna was all ready pregnant by then..
They sure wanted nice, new things for wedding gifts when others had to pay for it. Someone commented saying it would be hard to register at a thrift store.
I e mailed them asking why they would do that because of their “buy used and save” motto.
